When the Heart is Longing
Ever have those days, when you're just longing for something? Maybe it's a feeling that you can't exactly place. A wonder, a thought, a pondering, a hankering. I've got it. Makes me want all kinds of things all at once. Makes me long for it. I dream about it, a lot.
Having my own house again after 20 years. The house I owned 20 years ago was only mine for a short time. About 17 months to be exact. We had little money to fix up that house. It was already so cute, antique and dated. We were gifted 1,000 dollars by our family and used it to put in a kitchen. That house was so me. Victorian, hardwood floors, claw foot bathtub, sleeping porch.
The new house is so me. I can see everything of mine in there. I see how I want to decorate it. I see my furniture placed lovingly over the gorgeous hardwood floors. I imagine a raised garden, a garden shed, chicken house, finished shop. . . and I sigh.
I long for it.
I have to wait.
I am not counting down the months, days or the hours. I am not. Even though its roughly 9 months away.
Oh, big beauty of mine, how I am longing for you. I have dreams and plans for you. I have to be patient.
But, oh, how I long for you . . .

Retirement, here we come!
We closed this past Monday in an all cash sale on our permanent vacation
home in Saint Joseph, Missouri. In about a year we will be retired.
Stacey from 30+ years in the United States Coast Guard and myself from
25+ years home schooling. Moving to a place where it's more economical
to live on our retirement income and still be debt free. God found this
house for us and Cari Pruessner with United Real Estate Kansas City, Missouri (the best realtor/sister in the world helped Him
out a lot!). Its everything we've dreamed about for a very long time.
4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath on 1.33 acres. The house is in excellent
condition compared to some others Cari Pruessner
went and looked at for us. We are hoping that we found a sweet young
couple to stay in the house for us for the next year and keep it safe
for us until we get there. Retirement, here we come!

Dusting Off
Today
This castle is not exactly out my window. It is the Harry Potter castle from Universal Studios. We recently traveled there as a family to spend the day.
I am thinking...
About husband and wife closeness-
About how fast time flies-
About moving-
About things I want to do-
About motivation-
About changing me-
About spiritual-
I am thankful...
For my job. To have the same employer whether you call God my employer or Stacey. I hope both are pleased with my efforts. In just a year or two I could have new hobbies or some other kind of life pursuit when I put my then 10th grader into college.
One of my favorite things...
One of my favorite things...
Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
I am reading (read) /watching (watched) / listening to
Reading- Nicholas Sparks The Guardian- a stoopid book, too much romance, took 12 chapters just to get into the story, after the "Does he like me?" "Does she like me?" drama (ughhhh)
Watching-In addition to Netflix we recently added Country Road TV and Hallmark Movies Now.
www.www.hmnow.com
The series Signed, Sealed, Delivered is particularly good . Spoiler alert* have tissues handy
Listening to Home Free sing on YOUTube
I am hoping...
Hoping always that God will bless me with answered prayer.
I am learning...
Working AGAIN on my Bachelors of Biblical Education. Finding it hard to be motivated to work on it daily.
In my kitchen...
In the school room...
My student is working hard to complete the fifth book out of ten for the year. If he completes each 5th booklet before the end of the week, we'll take Friday-Tuesday off.
In my garden...

it's that your most trivial movements are also significant.”
