New Wagon

No, our new wagon is not a little red version with a handle.  It's a sweet, deep water blue.  And she's all ours!

We brought it home Saturday.  I've yet to drive it.  My manly man says he bought it for me.

We love our little blue wagon!

~~It's Thursday!~~

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...  rain today and tomorrow.  Is it just me, or does this winter seem...strange?  One day warm, one day cold.  Snow, rain...

I am thinking...  I am always thinking about lots of things...

I am thankful...I am thankful for many things.  I am thankful today for the provisions God gives me.  He takes care of me and HE loves me.

From the learning rooms...  Relaxed school schedule with my niece here.  Music practice seems to get completed every day.  Reading is accomplished.

Yesterday was NO SCHOOL.  Did you know it was a holiday in our house?  #2 son turned 9 yesterday.  We spent our school day at the mall, in the Lego store and had a great cheeseburger for lunch.

Happy Birthday!

In the kitchen...  Tonight we are having salmon patties, garlic broccoli, mashed potato and chocolate brownies.

I am wearing... A new pair of jeans, long sleeved white tee.  I am thinking about perming my hair.  I need some volume on the top.  I'll post before and after pictures if I manage to get that done.

frizzy, flat, GRAY and pouffy hair. . .all at the same time...

She is modeling the boots Aunt Beth bought her on Tuesday.  Pretty snazzy!

I am creating...  I've been keeping up with my craigslist postings.  Not too many hits on the vehicles.  We have had MAJOR success in taking them to the army base about 50 miles away from here.  Our little truck sold in 2 days after we placed it there.  I'm finding not too many folks are interested in camp trailers in January.    But I get questions on it all the time.

I am going...  Today we are going to the gym to swim.  I haven't been for quite a while.  It will be nice to get that kind of exercise today.

I am reading/watching...  We are still watching the Crusoe series, WE LOVE IT!
I am reading Laced a book by Carol Higgins Clark.  Both she and her mother, Mary Higgins Clark write very clean and decent.  And of course, they write mysteries.

I am praying...  Praying for my husband, who is going through some stressful times.  Praying that the Lord would move us sooner than the orders say... (the new boss in California asked when my husband could get there.)  Praying for the Lord to prepare the way for our move.  Praying for all my children.  For wisdom.  For guidance.  For peace.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose
mind is stayed on thee:
 because he trusteth in thee.

Around the house...My house needs a good dusting and maybe a run with the vacuum.  But other than that, things look pretty good.

One of my favorite things...

Ice cold Coca-Cola in a GLASS bottle with a nice sandwich and a handful of chips.  YUMMY!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  We are going to pick up our NEW TO US truck on Saturday!  (We must really LOVE that dodge blue paint!)

We're dropping off the van at the resale lot on the army base on Saturday.

We may get to show the trailer if the interested party contacts us like he said he would.

My niece and I are going to hand sew the little tracts back on the pink camper curtains for Round II of camper curtain sewing.  I never did finish the ones I was sewing for it.  Its amazing that the old ones didn't get taken to the thrift store. . .they were headed there!

Something to share...  Washington D.C. in January.

~~It's Thursday!~~

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...
Cold...Cold...Cold...Snow...Cold...etc...

I am thinking...
Thinking about all those things to do.

I am thankful...
Thankful to have my niece Joy here to stay with us for a month.  I get to experience all things GIRL-IE and I am thrilled!

(Proof that Joy is here!)

From the learning room... Two students for the next month.  We'll see how much we get done together.  We're studying this morning.  This afternoon we're relaxing.

(piano practice)

(schoolwork)

In the kitchen...
I am thinking of making a simple chicken Parmesan for dinner with a stuffed pasta shell and BIG, green salad.

Easy Chicken Parmesan
  • 1/2 cup Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/4 lbs.)
  • 4 tsp. Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 425°.
  2. Combine Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise with cheese in medium bowl. Arrange chicken on baking sheet. Evenly top with mayonnaise mixture, then sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  3. Bake 20 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.

I am wearing...
I am wearing jeans, orange long sleeved tee, and warm winter cardigan over that.  My hair has been washed but has taken it's own path to styling.  A few more inches of growth, and it should co-operate a bit better.

I am creating...
Lists.
I made 4 craigslist ads this week.  I love craigslist!  It's a nice FREE service.
1.  Tent Camper for sale

2.  Mazda pick up for sale

3.  Dodge Caravan for sale

4.  Golf clubs for sale

I also made print out 'spec' sheets for all three vehicles to post in their windows.  We took our truck and tent trailer down to McGuire Air Force Base to park on their 'For Sale' lot  Tuesday afternoon.  We had people looking at them before we even parked them!

We may take the van down to the Air Force Base next week.

I have been going...
We've spent the last two days driving around in the van.  We drove into the city Tuesday to get our niece Joy from the airport.  We drove drove to the AFB.  Yesterday, we almost drove to Connecticut to look at a truck.  It had been sold, so we drove to Pennsylvania instead and looked at this beautiful truck . . .

I am praying
. . .praying for the desires of my heart, praying for my health
(I've been having bowel problems related to hormones and stress.  It's not fun.  I want the Lord to take them away!) Praying for far away family.  Praying for my children.

Psalms 16:1
"Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust."

I am reading/watching...
I am reading two Jane Austen Mysteries by Stephanie Barron.  I LOVE them.  They are books written as mysteries from Jane Austens' perspective by the author Ms Barron.

Around the house... Around the house, my kitchen is clean.  My house is fairly dusty.  I'm going to burn a vanilla scented candle soon and watch HGTV.

One of my favorite things... Buffet food.  Our drive yesterday took us through Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  We found Shady Maple Smorgasbord, featuring Pennsylvania dutch cooking, on the GPS and spent TWO hours here, eating and visiting the gift shop!  The food, atmosphere and restaurant were LOVELY!  I sampled a dish called "Pig Stomach"  it was a type of casserole with bits of 'meat' that I assume were stomach.  Here is the definition of pig stomach on wikipedia ~ It is made from a cleaned pig's stomach traditionally stuffed with cubed potatoes and loose pork sausage. Other ingredients include cabbage, onions, and spices.  Just so you know, it tasted like liver casserole.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
We're trying to surprise Joy with an educational trip to Washington, D.C. this weekend.  I am excited to spend the weekend with our friends Chris, Sharon and baby Anastasia.  Saturday, we'll enjoy the free museums.  We'll be staying in a hotel, that's always a treat for me and #2 son.  I'll post pictures on our return.

Something to share...  I'll try to be better the next few weeks taking pictures.  I did snap this one as we drove by the Amish men placing fence posts.

Have a great weekend friends!
