~~It's Monday~~

(My 2011 garden)

Outside my window~  Humid but comfortably warm.  It is supposed to be the same all week.  Mid seventies with occasional thunder showers in the evenings.

I am thankful for~  I am thankful the Lord meets my needs.  I am thankful for my health.  I am thankful for my family.

From the learning room~  We've been working on spelling, reading, counting money, counting by 25's.  I've cleaned and organized our school room area a bit.  I still have some old decorations to pull down.

My studies are coming along slowly.  I'm almost done reading the book of Matthew.  I am constantly amazed at the the things the Lord is bringing to my attention.  I am waiting to study further on some things I've been reading.

From the kitchen~ Our Resurrection Dinner was great.  We had a wonderful baked Ham, homemade scalloped potatoes, green beans with carrots, fruit salad, dinner rolls and apple cobbler with ice cream. Bachelor David came over and shared eating duties with us.

(that's not my ham, but mine looked similar to this one)

Monday~ Ham and egg omelet, leftover scalloped potatoes with toast

Tuesday~  Salmon Patties, Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Broccoli

Wednesday~  Grilled Chicken pieces with Green Salad

Thursday~  Easy Taco's

Friday~  Homemade Pizza Night (Daddy's at work)

Saturday~  Family Date Night (going out?)

Sunday~  Tereaki Meatballs with brown rice, garlic snow peas,  fruit salad

I am wearing~   Tan capri's, orange tee shirt.  I trimmed my hair this morning and took a picture of it for you.  My hair is almost completley free of color now.  I am very salt and pepper in front.  I still have a bit of brown in the back by my neckline.  I may try to take a better picture later in the week of my salt and pepper hair.

I am creating~  I am plum wore out from my week of gardening.  I am not sore anymore.  I know the earth worms like what we have done.  I am waiting for the nursery to carry some more bedding plants such as; Lobelia and Allysum, when those come in, I will make my hanging baskets and add a few more flowers to the flower beds.

My back patio. . . will soon to be pretty with hanging baskets, flowerpots and such.

I am thinking~ About far away family this week.  Thinking about summer.  Thinking about moving.

I am reading/watching~  Road to Avonlea  (I love all the period costumes!)

Favorite Things~  baby soap smell

(baby Anastasia)

bubblegum ice cream

lemonade

Homemade Lemon Curd~ YUM!!

Around the house~  The windows are open blowing in fresh air.  My sheets are being washed.  The rugs need vacuuming.  Kitchen is clean.  Thinking about dinner. I may put on some soothing music to enjoy.   Thinking about having toast with lemon curd for dinner!

I am praying~   Praying for the desires of my heart~ there are many.

"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
Psalms 37:4

~~It's Thursday~~

Outside my window~  It's wet out my window.  But the day promises to be grand.  We'll be heading outside shortly to get ourselves dirty!

This paper, ash and food scraps will be worked into the soil as 'worm food'

(puddles of water from yesterday's rain)

Fresh soil and manure added to this bed already!

I will be working on this one shortlty and the 'garden beds'

I am thankful for~ I am thankful for having stuff.  I love my stuff and am glad it surrounds me in my home and makes my home different than anyone else's home.  I probably have too much stuff but I am thankful for it!

Exodus 36:7   "For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much."

From the learning rooms~  We received our achievement test results.  I am happy to say, my student did very well.  I am thinking that we are going to be done with school for this year, with the exception of some skill building in spelling, money, time and a few other things.  I am so proud of his scores in reading.  I can't but help pat myself on the back and say, "I TAUGHT HIM HOW TO READ!!"

(click on picture for a larger view)

I am in Matthew chapter 12 at least.  I am trying to read a little here and there and take notes for studying later.  I can see many great days coming on the back porch reading

From the kitchen~  Things from the kitchen are kinda crazy.  It is April, my manly man has to meet a standard weigh in requirement at the end of the month.  He is ferociously eating greens and running.  I am trying to be kind and fix HUGE green salads.  We've had salad and baked potatoes at least 3 times in the last week!

I think every April and October (weigh in months) he gives serious consideration to retireing from military life!

(Does he wish he had this body back?)

I am wearing~   In my pj's.  I will be changing to yard working clothes!

I am creating~  No creating.  I am thinking about spending some money and get some photos processed for that photo album update project.  I can't wait, in a few more weeks the nurseries will start carrying bedding and garden plants.  My flower beds will be so pretty!

I am thinking~  I am am STILL thinking about summer things.  Camping, dirt bike riding, a new truck, 4X4 trips in my husbands Toyota project, blueberry picking, fishing hiking and other things!
  • I found a small pond I want to try fishing in with bobbers and worms.
  • Saw some pretty trucks on ebay and craigslist last night.

  • That pretty truck would go well with this trailer, don't you think?

  • With one of these one two three of these the bed of the trailer!

I am reading/watching~   BEDEVILED EGGS by Laura Childs.  This book is not as good as the others I have read by the same author.  It has people sleeping around who are not married and drinking far more than I remember in other books.  Some of the recipes look good though.
Bedeviled Eggs

Favorite Things~

Enjoying my yard.

Around the house~ Needs vacuuming.  Beds are not made.  Dishes in the sink.  OH MY!!

I am praying~   Praying for Grandma Mae.  She is going through a big change in her life.  At 90, she is going to be going to live with my mother and father in law in Tennessee.  I think she is excited about the change.  It will be fun for mother and daughter to spend time together.

(that's Grandma Mae on the left.)

Something to share~ I WON a prize.  This sweet pin made with love from my sweet friend Amanda at this blog~ Trenttribe

I'll be wearing it next time I go to church.  Wont it be fun to plan a day's wardrobe around this pin!  FUN!!

Menu On Wednesday~ and a recipe

Wednesday-  Grilled chicken, baked sweet potato, great green salad

Thursday-  Salmon Patties, mashed potato, garlic broccoli

Friday-  Turkey Tereaki meatballs, brown rice, wilted spinach

Saturday-  Swiss Steak, roasted potato wedges, carrots and peas

Sunday-  cheesy chicken and rice soup, grilled cheese sandwiches

-----------------------------------------------

Easy Baked Parmesan Fish

Use a firm fish such as cod or halibut.  I have used flounder with good results.

Four four servings mix together~

1/4 C. mayonnaise
1/4 C. sour cream
1 t. Mrs. Dash or other seasoning such as dried dill
fresh ground pepper
1/4 t. crushed or minced garlic
1 T. minced, dried onions or fresh sweet onion, diced
1/4 C. grated Parmesan cheese
1/8-1/4 C grated Parmesan cheese to top

Mix all ingredients in small bowl.   Place fish in prepared baking pan.  Smooth topping over each portion of fish.  Sprinkle remaining Parmesan over fish.  Bake at 425 degrees 12-15 minutes.  Test fish for doneness, it should flake when cooked completely.  Place in broiler if top of fish is not brown enough.

*you could substitute light mayonnaise and light sour cream

~~It's Thursday~~

Outside my window~  Rain in the afternoon yesterday.  it is supposed to be clearer today with highs around 52 degrees.  I'll be looking forward to Monday when the foretasted high is supposed to be 72 degrees.  I can see a major yard work day coming.

I am thankful for~ It never gets old does it?  I am so thankful the Lord provides for our needs over and above what I could even ask for or think I need!

"...For your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, BEFORE YE ASK HIM."
Matthew 6:8

From the learning room~  My student finished his achievement test on Friday and we mailed it in that day.

At piano practice on Monday he asked why the studios were so empty.  "It is spring break."  I said  "Why do I not get a break?" asked my student.

I started reading the first four books of the New Testament last night after dinner.  I got to Matthew 7 before I stopped.  I had a pencil and my little journal out I wrote down some things I wanted to go back and study.  It was a productive evening.

From the kitchen~  Tonight it will be baked Ziti.  I will try not to make too much.  We haven't been doing so well at eating leftovers.  I am trying REALLY hard to cook smaller portions as my big eater and leftover disposal is in Mississippi!  Thinking about fresh strawberries all sweet and delicious.  I don't know if I'll put up any freezer jam this year.  Long about December/January, I'll be worrying thinking about having that freezer empty and ready for a move!

I am wearing~   Denim skirt and long sleeved red tee with long socks and tennis shoes.  COMFY!

I am creating~  I think I may try to rearrange my living room furniture next week.  This is what I did this week.  NO BIG CHANGE right?  Just refreshed some artificial things and moved a bit here and there.

I am thinking~  I am am thinking about summer things.  Camping, dirt bike riding, a new truck, 4X4 trips in my husbands Toyota project, blueberry picking, fishing hiking and other things!

I am reading/watching~  Not sure what I am reading.  I am between mysteries.  We have watched this show in the evening before bed this week and have enjoyed it.  I'd rate it PG as it does have murder scenes with graphic blood and body parts.

Murder Rooms:  The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes

Photo from Murder Rooms

Favorite Things~  One of my favorite things is being able to stay home and minister to my children and my husband.  I LOVE it!!
 Mother and baby

Around the house~  Things are tidy.  I'll be vacuuming and dusting tomorrow in preparation for company Saturday. Bachelor David, Chris, Sharon and the baby are coming over for meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and butterscotch layered dessert.

I am praying~   For far away family to have answered prayer.  For far away family to grow closer in their walk with the Lord.  My SIL, Cari herniated a disk in her back recently during a move.  She has had back problems for 10 years.  I am asking you to join with me in prayer that she may be healed and not have to have another back  surgery.  Praying for the desires of my heart.  Praying for wisdom.

(Cari- my sister in law)

Something to share~ I bought some new music last week for my birthday and it is trickling in via mail.  This is what we're enjoying today.

Have a great weekend Friends!
