Friday's Flurries

Not going anywhere today.  Nope not us.  We're snowed in.  Again!  We've got some leftover chili and cornbread muffins.  But I have a bad craving for pizza.  I don't think I have much I can top a pizza with besides chicken or hamburger...OoOoo...maybe a barbecue, chicken, bacon pizza?!

Have a great weekend friends!

and the Lord shall cover him all the day long"

 Deuteronomy 33:12

"...be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things."
Joel 2:21

Terrific Tuesday**With Edit**

No menu yet.  I'll be working on it and my grocery list today.  I'll have my two nephews on Tuesday...I hear they eat great.  I am trying to plan a menu.  I'll probably be cooking a bit this weekend and throwing some stuff in the freezer for making quick meals.

I went out with my friend Alison and her girls yesterday.  We went to to Lahaska, Pennsylvania to the outlet shops and Peddlers Village.  It was a quiet afternoon with our wonderfull children.  We mainly window shopped.  I did find two beauties.  Cappacino cups.  (We enjoyed several cappacino's on our cruise vacation.  They are a wonderfull pick me up!  These are pretty big cups though.)

I was so excited I remembered to bring the camera to take blog pictures of our time together.  I pulled the camera out at the first shop we stopped in for a sweet pose of a little girl and little boy snuggled on a bench watching cartoons while the Mom's shopped.  My camera was missing the memory card!!  My manly man used the camera for pictures of car parts and didn't put it back together!

I'll try to post more later of my menu ideas!

It' Thursday!

Outside my window... Cold and Windy

I am thinking...
...That winter has been too long...

(That's the fire pit and back yard now!!)

(I miss all this!)

I am thankful for... I am thankful that God is faithful and he always answers prayer...even if may not be the answer I was seeking.  "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication WITH THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God."  Philippians 4:6 (read the next verse too!)

I am wearing... I am STILL in my pj's but will be taking a soaking HOT bath soon and putting on jeans, warm sweater socks and tennis shoes.

I am praying for...
Answers to prayers!

I am creating... I need to start that photo organizing project.  I may put it off for a month or so.  all my other projects were completed!  The house looks nice.

(click on the cd case to go and listen to clips from this cd!)

From the learning rooms... Reading is progressing very well.  He is understanding lots of new concepts.  I am very proud!  We may take a school day to Borders Books later this morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
Blessedly uneventful for me!

My manly man has taken on another car project to be a blessing to our friend Brenda and her family.

(Body work and repair on the car that was Brenda's husbands.  He gave it to the boys before he died.  She wants it fixed up for them to continue to use it)
I'd like to see it done as quickly as possible so he can finish the work on the Asian Lady.

One of my favorite things... Memories of a life well lived

Pictures From the Show

Westminster Kennel Club Show

at Madison Square Garden

Posing in front of the dog he liked, a Mastiff

Looking down on the arena.

I looked for him to on t.v. but didn't see him.  Really I only caught glances of those just off the floor and he said this was mainly the area he worked, in the back, far away from the floor.  He said there were two exciting times in the evening when he thought his service might be needed.  One was a woman who was having a screaming/hitting fit at another woman's child...they removed the WHOLE ROW!  Another was at the end when the P.E.T.A. group crashed the Best In Show award.  They were protesting that animal breeders keep dogs from being adopted out of shelters.

Terrific Tuesday Recipe

Cheese Noodles

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 (6-ounce) package very fine egg noodles, cooked to pkg directions (just under al dente!)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix together cottage cheese, sour cream, grated onion, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt. Add noodles and place in greased casserole. Sprinkle top with grated Parmesan cheese. Bake for 45 minutes.

**This is a great and easy recipe.  It may be hard to find these noodles.  They are very fine.  Like the ones in envelopes of chicken noodle soup.  Look on the pasta isle.  I've also found the noodles need to be cooked to just under al dente.  It taste better when the noodles are not soft.

Thursday~  Turkey Swedish Meatballs with Egg Noodles, Sweetend Green Beans, Green Salad, Cottage Cheese and Fruit

Friday~  Tomato Soup and Grilled cheese sandwiches

Saturday~  Grilled Chicken Breast, Green Salad, Baked Potatoes

Sunday~  Tereaki Short Ribs over White rice, Cheesy Noodle Casserole, Sweet Potato Fries, Wilted Spinach

((Someone has been asking what we played with when we were children.  I still have a few of my things left.  #2 has been asking to check out all the Barbie stuff and play with it for a bit.  We brought it down from the attic today.  It kept him busy for about 4 hours!  he even got Indiana Jones out to play with Barbie and Ken! )

Can you believe we went out to a very nice dinner Friday?  We enjoyed awesome fellowship with all our friends from church.  I was surprised at the good turnout, about 20 couples.  Most of us went back to the church and played some games.  We got home about 11:30 p.m.!  I FORGOT MY CAMERA.  I have no pictures!

Sunday we ate out instead of in, my manly man took me out for burgers.  We ran into a family from church and enjoyed eating and chatting with them at the restaurant.  No pictures this day either.

Today I braved a Presidents Day 50% off sale at my favorite thrift store...IT WAS CRAZY.  I do not enjoy combat shopping.  No deal is worth it to me.  I did get 4 tops and two animals for Banjo!  There were wall to wall people and it made searching for things very hard!

More snow on it's way tonight.  No great and exciting plans for the rest of the week.  My manly man is working the Westminster Dog Show tomorrow.  He is pretty excited about it.

School resumes tomorrow as well.  The snow and three day weekend were a nice break for my student.

Until Tomorrow...
