It's Thursday!!

Outside my window...  It's cold.  I'm sitting here at the desk, just beginning this post, I'm already half frozen.  It's cold.  Around town some of the lakes are starting to freeze as are the puddles at the sides of the roads.

I am thinking...  I am thinking and dreaming about being back in California.  You'll get tired of me saying that in the next few months.    I've got to make a list of projects to complete.  I've got two rounds of Girls coming to visit this month.  I need to ready #2 son's bedroom as the guest room.

I am thankful...  I am thankful for God's word.  I know I've said it before, but God's word is an amazing ALIVE book.  So much wisdom.  So Comforting.  I am amazed that  can find so many verses to fit my mood, thought or action.


From the learning rooms...  No school this week.  we are enjoying our break.  We'll resume a full week of classes Monday.

In the kitchen...  Buckwheat waffles and pepper bacon for breakfast.  Chili baked potato for a late lunch.  If hunger strikes later. . .green salad.

Tomorrow- Daddy works the late shift.  Momma treats us Chinese food take out!!

I am wearing... Jeans, White tank, with lilac cardigan on top.  Hair fixed, make-up applied.

I am creating...  Tomorrow, with the help of my manly man, I'll get a couple things down from the attic and clean up #2 son's room for those girly guests.

(It will look similar to this.  This is when I fixed it up for my Momma!)

I am reading/watching...  We went to the library this morning so I have a new stack of books.  I think I'll be reading two Clive Cussler books.  I love that author!

I found a new cookbook to browse . . .

I am praying...  I am praying that the Lord would continue to answer the desires of my heart.  That HE would be preparing the way for our move.  That HE would give us a perfect little place in the country.  For health.  For safety.  For my husband.  For my children.  For far away family.

I am hearing...  Wind chimes are blowing.  The space heater is running.  I have my new David Nevue c.d. playing here in the computer.  It is so soothing.

Around the house...  My Christmas decorations are still up.  I love the lights.  I missed the sweet smell of fresh cut greens this year.  I am smelling Cinnamon and vanilla from several candles that are burning around the house.

One of my favorite things...  California!


A few plans for the rest of the week:  Room cleaning tomorrow.  Bachelor David Saturday.  I'll take him to get his groceries and then he'll come over to spend the afternoon/evening with us.  We'll eat soup, and watch a video.

Meeting of Friends

My family had a fabulous day on Monday.  We traveled over the river,  through the woods, to April's house we went.  We were greeted by a smiling couple.  The house was beautifully decorated.  It smelled and looked so festive.  We feasted on wonderful tasting food and enjoyed amazing conversation.   I love my April Jo and her Jimmy and Brett!

I worked on a post Friday, I couldn't get xanga to upload my photo's so I quit trying.  We are in Tennessee with my husbands parents to spend a week with them during Christmas.  I'm not sure how much I'll be posting this week.  We're planning to be back home December 27th.

Outside my window...  It was a beautiful day today.  I'm guessing it was almost 60 degrees.  We attend church with the Grandma's this morning.  This afternoon I WALKED 2 miles with my mother in law!!  Amazing

I am thinking...  I am thinking about the future, about what's in store.

I am thankful...  I am thankful for many things.  I am thankful for answered prayer.  On Tuesday, we received word from my husbands detail-er where our next duty station will be.  We are going back to San Diego, California in the summer of 2012.  I cannot even begin to tell you how excited we are.  If you remember, this was our first choice on our 'dream sheet'.  We are so excited for answered prayer and that the Lord would be so specific in answering our prayers!!  Thank you so much, dear friends in praying for my prayer requests.  I appreciate those prayers so much!

California, here we come!!

From the learning rooms... No school this next week.  We are enjoying our relaxed time without studies.

In the kitchen...  We enjoyed a pot roast dinner after church today.  I'm enjoying my mother in laws home cooking.

I am wearing...  I'm dressed down right now.  I have on a denim skirt and navy colored tee shirt.  My hair is fixed AND I have on make up!  Where is the picture of that?

I am creating...  I'm not creating anything the next couple weeks.  I may start planning a list of goals to accomplish before we move this summer.  Next week, I need to plan a menu.  I'll need to throw some more busy day casseroles in the freezer too.

I am reading/watching...  Another series, out of order.  This is a decent mystery featuring a housewife who stumbles into a family mystery.


and we're watching The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones and Tales of the Gold Monkey.



I am praying...  I still have a couple desires of my heart that I am praying for.  I'm praying for Lord to 'prepare' the way for our move.  That things will organize smoothly and not be stressful.  I am praying that we will be able to have a little place in the country to live. 

I am looking forward to...  I am looking forward to a day spent with @victoriantomboy tomorrow.  We driving up to her place for a visit.  Food and fellowship, I'm SUPER excited!



I am hearing...  Chritmas music with Andrea Bocelli on PBS.  I'm also hearing my #2 son playing with his remote control helicopter.

Around the house... It's not my house to critique, but it all looks great.  I helped stick dishes in the dishwasher this afternoon.  That was a good contribution!  We've got some cinnamon scented Christmas baskets lit, they're so pretty!



One of my favorite things...  We're going to smoke a turkey on Tuesday,  my mouth is already watering in anticipation of a good sandwich. 
I love to enjoy a good sandwich, with a cold glass of chocolate Ovaltine.

Life is Beautiful when these three are together!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  A good drive and some chatting tomorrow with my sister from another mother.  Lunch at Western Sizzling Tuesday with one of my FAVORITE Uncles and Aunts this week, maybe have a rousing game of Rummykub after eating.  Enjoying the company of my family.
