~~It's Thursday!~~

It's Thursday!!

Outside my window...
It's cold.  I'm sitting here at the desk, just beginning this post, I'm already half frozen.  It's cold.  Around town some of the lakes are starting to freeze as are the puddles at the sides of the roads.

I am thinking...  I am thinking and dreaming about being back in California.  You'll get tired of me saying that in the next few months.    I've got to make a list of projects to complete.  I've got two rounds of Girls coming to visit this month.  I need to ready #2 son's bedroom as the guest room.

I am thankful...  I am thankful for God's word.  I know I've said it before, but God's word is an amazing ALIVE book.  So much wisdom.  So Comforting.  I am amazed that  can find so many verses to fit my mood, thought or action.

From the learning rooms...  No school this week.  we are enjoying our break.  We'll resume a full week of classes Monday.

In the kitchen...  Buckwheat waffles and pepper bacon for breakfast.  Chili baked potato for a late lunch.  If hunger strikes later. . .green salad.

Tomorrow- Daddy works the late shift.  Momma treats us Chinese food take out!!

(Spicy General Tso's Chicken)

Saturday-  Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup and dinner rolls

Sunday- Macaroni and Cheese with Tereaki Beef Short Ribs, Garlic Broccoli

I am wearing... Jeans, White tank, with lilac cardigan on top.  Hair fixed, make-up applied.

(my outfit today is very similar to the one pictured here (Feb 24, 2011))

I am creating...  Tomorrow, with the help of my manly man, I'll get a couple things down from the attic and clean up #2 son's room for those girly guests.

(It will look similar to this.  This is when I fixed it up for my Momma!)

I am reading/watching...  We went to the library this morning so I have a new stack of books.  I think I'll be reading two Clive Cussler books.  I love that author!

I found a new cookbook to browse . . .

Robin Takes 5 by Robin Miller

I am praying...  I am praying that the Lord would continue to answer the desires of my heart.  That HE would be preparing the way for our move.  That HE would give us a perfect little place in the country.  For health.  For safety.  For my husband.  For my children.  For far away family.

I am hearing...  Wind chimes are blowing.  The space heater is running.  I have my new David Nevue c.d. playing here in the computer.  It is so soothing.
A Delicate Joy

Around the house...  My Christmas decorations are still up.  I love the lights.  I missed the sweet smell of fresh cut greens this year.  I am smelling Cinnamon and vanilla from several candles that are burning around the house.

One of my favorite things...  California!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Room cleaning tomorrow.  Bachelor David Saturday.  I'll take him to get his groceries and then he'll come over to spend the afternoon/evening with us.  We'll eat soup, and watch a video.

Something to share...  Tennessee Vacation Pictures

These are NOT Tenneesee Vacation pictures.  Anastasia and I are posing for the camera!

I fixed her hair!

That's All!!  Have a Blessed New Year!  May all your prayers come true in 2012

  1. thank you for sharing the only the Word of God photo - really a good visual reminder.  it is warm here in OK,  60+ and sunny, and after the last 2 long cold winters,  I am really enjoying it.

  2. I love your picture of the Word of God.  We usually are freezing this time of year but we've had warm weather - so strange for us.

  3. we both changed our pages today! so funny. Doesn't surprise me at all!!That is a wonderful pic that you posted for the Bible.Jimmy has to work a 3rd shift Sunday night. Something I am not used to. ( inventory ) Glad you had a safe trip home, but would have LOVED for you to have stayed!

  4. We are experiencing the 8th warmest December on record here. I'm sure the cold is coming though.Your home looks so inviting. The basket on the bed looks like a bed and breakfast.I'm sure your guests will feel very welcomed.Your California picture looks wonderful. I have never been to the west coast....someday! =)Happy Thursday to you.

  5. Love this post! Looks like everyone had fun playing games!  Ok, I noticed you have white towels. How do you keep them nice and white? I used to have some, but finally had to get rid of them. The bleaching yellowed them and broke odwn the fabric. :(My cousin lives in the bay area of California and LOVES it there! When do you all move?

  6. I too love the "word of God" picture.  Glad you are safely home.  Glad also that you got the desire of your heart and are going to California.  Our God is an awesome God!   I am freezing here too.  We went from no snow and mild temps in the 50's to below freezing and 4-6 inches of snow, more snow tomorrow, Sat and Sun!  I am not going to look past that as I really don't want to know there is more snow coming!  I was beginning to be spoiled!

  7.  I also love your "Word of God" picture, what a visual!        Have a very "Happy and Blessed New Year".

  8. I've gotten to stay at the Hotel Del Coronado before! It was a gift for my 30th birthday!  Hard to believe it's been FIVE years since then! Ack! I know you are glad to be going to San Diego, but I'm a wishing you all were coming this way! (even for a visit would be great!)

  9. @SealedbyGrace - White towels.  I buy cheap ones from Wal Mart.  I only bleach about every other wash.  I use cheap laundry soap from aldi's and  the store brand lavender vanilla dryer sheets in winter.  For dirty hand washing I prefer my shop guy use hand cleaner in the deep sink and dry on paper towels.  That saves my white towels.  I'll pick through the yukky ones once a year or once every other year and replace with a new towel.  I've used white towels now for almost 8 years and LOVE them. They match most everything.
