~~It's Thursday!~~

~~It's Thursday!~~

Outside my window...  It's sure feeling like spring.  I've heard singing birds returning.  I've spied Forsythia ready to bloom just south of my house.  My lawn is greening up.  It will be windy today but the temperature promises to be in the 60's!

I am thinking...  Thinking about, oh so much!  I am thinking about my next home.  I am thinking about a new start.  Thinking about those pesky to do projects.

I am thankful...  I am always thankful for the Lord's grace and mercy toward me.  I am thankful for answered prayer.  I am thankful that the Lord ALWAYS provides for me, over and above what I could ask for or even think!

Psalm 145: 8-9
The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercyThe Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

In the kitchen...  From the kitchen, I am trying a new recipe tonight.  Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti Casserole.

I posted some recipes a few weeks ago.  We've tried most of them.  They were excellent!

"Mock" Pecan Pie made with a bag of $ .99 pretzels.  YUMMY!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 sticks salted butter, cut into pieces, plus more for greasing pan
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • One 10 to 12-ounce jar strawberry preserves ***

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-by-13-inch rectangular pan.

Mix together the butter, flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Press half the oat mixture into the prepared pan. Spread with the strawberry preserves. Sprinkle the other half of the oat mixture over the top and pat lightly. Bake until light brown, 30 to 40 minutes. Let cool completely, and then cut into squares.

***You may substitute ANY flavor of jam with recipe.  I used half strawberry and half raspberry.  Peach and Apricot would taste great as well.  I also cut back on the amount of sugar to 1/2 Cup!

I am wearing...  Wishing I was wearing this outfit today, but I am not.  I have on jeans and a light blue, long, sleeved tee shirt.  My hair is not fixed.

I am creating...  The creating department is silent right now.  I've got a project to do with my husband.  He wants removable, washable seat covers for his TOY-ota.  I think he'd like to place them on the TOY-ota for the move.  So we'll be working on that shortly.

(The fabric he picked out.)

(Similar to what he wants)

We are reading/watching...  We are watching Bionic Woman Season 2.  They have been great shows!
The Bionic Woman Poster

Still continueing with the series of Young Indiana Jones.

Bachelor David has enjoyed watching this series with us.  Nothing like the originals!  Charlton Heston was a HUNK!

I am praying...  I am praying for the desires of my heart.  I am praying still about our move.  We should have a firm date soon.  Praying for Maggie who needs to keep busy and be content
Praying for wisdom.  Praying for guidance for myself and my husband.  Praying for far away family.  Praying for my spirit, which needs refreshed.

...and for that silly van.  We STILL have it.  We "think" it is sold.  We even have $500.00 earnest money on it.  A father is encouraging his daughter to purchase it to drive his 3 grand-babies around in it.  She doesn't seem impressed or motivated.  I am sad that the agreed upon sale price is $3600 and we're asking $4500   But we were praying that the right people would be getting the van.

*((Just received word that the deal fell through.  The daughters tax return 'disapeared'.))*

From the learning rooms. . . Plugging along on our school work.  Doing spelling exercises.  Thinking about schooling through summer or doing double days.

I am studying about New Testament Giving.

Around the house... My dog is getting his haircut and bath today.  My carpets are full of dog hair, so we will be vacuuming today.  I just dusted or I think I did,  but dusting needs done again today.  I have three David Nevue  cd's in the player on shuffle play.  I have a pumpkin pie candle burning on the dining table.  I started a fire in the firepit for #2 son to throw sticks on.  It is pretty windy and not such a great day for that.  The windows are open in the house and it's getting some good, fresh air.

One of my favorite things...

((Him ))
I am so grateful that the Lord saw fit to place us together 23 years ago.  Recently, 'each day grows sweeter than it was the day before...'     I LOVE HIM . . .

(This is the remainder of the flowers he had delivered to me on the day I was so emotional about the passing of my Dad.)

A few plans for the rest of the week:
I am spending time with my peeps tomorrow.  Going out to Chinese buffet with Sharon, Anastasia, #2 son and Bachelor David.  Bachelor David and I will then go over to DMV to renew his ID card.  We'll come back home and feast on dessert an play games for a few hours.

I am looking forward. . . to a weekend with my manly man.  We've really enjoyed our 'bench' seat in the new truck.  It's been 12 years since we snuggled so close in a moving vehicle!

Something to Share...

I'm out of sharing for this week.  Have a great weekend friends.  I promise to return with more posting soon and returning to regularly commenting on your blogs.

  4. I am so sorry about the passing of your dad. I didn't know either. My daddy passed in '99 and it sure has been rough. I've had those kinds of days, too. It does ease some with time, but it still hurts some days.So sweet that you got flowers from your dh. They're beautiful! Those seat covers are pretty neat-looking!  I wish I knew how to sew that well! Praying hard for your van to sell to the right folks!
