Dusting Off

Today

Looking out my window...
This castle is not exactly out my window.  It is the Harry Potter castle from Universal Studios.  We recently traveled there as a family to spend the day.

I am thinking...
About husband and wife closeness-
About how fast time flies-
About moving-
About things I want to do-
About motivation-
About changing me-
About spiritual-

I am thankful...
For my job.  To have the same employer whether you call God my employer or Stacey.  I hope both are pleased with my efforts.  In just a year or two I could have new hobbies or some other kind of life pursuit when I put my then 10th grader into college.

One of my favorite things...
Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

I am creating...
Baby Quilts

I am wearing...
A super, cute, cuddly lap cat
Can you believe that 1 year ago she was this tiny?  Now she is almost 10 1/2 pounds!

I am reading (read) /watching (watched) / listening to

Reading- Nicholas Sparks The Guardian- a stoopid book, too much romance, took 12 chapters just to get into the story, after the "Does he like me?"  "Does she like me?" drama (ughhhh)

Watching-In addition to Netflix we recently added Country Road TV and Hallmark Movies Now.

The series Signed, Sealed, Delivered is particularly good .  Spoiler alert* have tissues handy

Listening to Home Free sing on YOUTube

I am hoping...
Hoping always that God will bless me with answered prayer.

I am learning...
Working AGAIN on my Bachelors of Biblical Education.  Finding it hard to be motivated to work on it daily.

In my kitchen...
This category should be called Pinterest FAIL.  Mainly it happens in the baking department.  I try to bake low carb and sugar free.  Many times the recipes DON'T turn out like the pictures on Pinterest.

In the school room...
My student is working hard to complete the fifth book out of ten for the year.  If he completes each 5th booklet before the end of the week, we'll take Friday-Tuesday off.

In my garden...
No pictures to show for this.  All the citrus fruit in the neighborhood is prolific right now.  Everything seems to ripen at once.  We've enjoyed Meyer lemons, mandarin oranges, limes and kumquats.  I even made about 11 pints of sugar free lemon curd.  I think it may be a Pinterest FAIL.  I used Xylitol and after cooking it seems to be re-crystallizing, in the jar, in a big clump. Yay-me!

Post Script...

Check out her stuffs.

A moment from my day...
Last Thursday, a visit with a special girl.  We painted nails.

Thank You Simple Woman Daybook for helping me be inspired to post!

Cluck-Cluck Hen

I can finally check something off my to-do bucket list.  I've always wanted to keep a flock of my own chickens.  It's been several weeks now since my manly man started to build me a small coop.  It was complete enough on Saturday that I went and got some hens.  All total I have 4 chickens, they are Red Star and Rhode Island Reds.

Still recovering after their traumatic capture and re-homing event, I've not gotten any eggs yet.

Favorite Movie Houses Part Two

I do love me some good movie houses.  Since my last post, I have been keeping an eye out for such homes.

A child of the 70's, I have always loved  The Brady Bunch.  I LOVE their house.  I even had a Cindy (barbie) doll.

I love to watch movies that film in California.  I love California, it is such a beautiful state.  Gorgeous scenery.  California made popular the 'ranch' home movement in the 1960's.

I love the original Parent Trap and am a big fan of Hailey Mills.  I also loved Brian Keith as I've always thought he looked like my Dad and could play him in the movie version of my life :-)

I especially love the kitchen in this house.  It resembles so many of the kitchens in the houses we've rented the past 28 years.  This kitchen even contains my very own juicer!  It sits on the counter to the left of the coffee pots you see in this shot!

I also love Doris Day and her movies.  She was so stinking CUTE!  And she could sing.
This is the apartment from Please Don't Eat the Daisies.  I am not a fan of apartments myself.  I loved how this one was decorated. . . . .AND that kitchen!!

And the couch and chairs and library all around!
all the books, flowered drapes and beautiful Doris Day!
Wild At Heart. This last house is from a show we found on DVD from Netflix with Hailey Mills as the Grandmother.  The scenery was gorgeous!  This house is not real only a set house built on a game sanctuary in South Africa.  The first 3 seasons of the show were great and then it got a bit sappy and the story line much like that of a soap opera.  The scenery of the house interior and exterior= WONDERFUL!

Hope you enjoyed Favorite Movie Houses Part 2
