~~It's Thursday!~~

Outside my window...  Cloudy and misty today.  The forcast is for rain tomorrow.  We've been wondering if we were going to get any more rain this spring.

I am thinking...  I am thinking about being on the mend.  I feel really well.  My incisions (there are 5)  are feeling and looking good.  I get sore easily and wore out quickly.  I am looking forward to being released from 'light duty' at my Dr. appt. on Monday.  I am also looking forward to a few more details about my surgery.  My husband didn't really communicate details really well.  Sounds like there was a lot of Endometriosis in there.  The pictures were pretty cool.  I'd post them but I think you'd gross out!

I am thankful...

Isaiah 45:3   And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

Psalms 28:7   The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

1 Chronicles 16:8   Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

Psalms 69:30   I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Psalm 34:1  I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Psalm 100:4  Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name.

1 Thessalonians 5:18   In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I am thankful to God that he spared us from cancer.  I am thankful for what God is teaching me through this.  I am thankful that is helping me to be a witness to my neighbors.

Thank you so much for all you dear friends who have prayed for me and us!!  You don't know how much I appreciate it.  YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!  Thank you to those of you who sent cards and flowers, it gave my heart joy to see them as I grow stronger!

In the kitchen...  I'm still doing light duty in the kitchen.  I'm thankful for all the freezer meals I made.  Tonight we're having grilled chicken breast, baked sweet potatoes and green salad.

I am wearing...  I'm trying to find comfortable clothes.  What's most comfortable for me is my short nighty and light bathrobe with socks.  I finally dressed yesterday after 8 days in my nightgown.  My belly seems very tender and bloated, waistbands are uncomfortable.

I am creating...  Got that perpetual list going.  I've got some things I need to do to finish decorating my husbands side of the bed.  I've got some doily's I need to starch and lay our around the house.  I've got a list going of garden plants for my new garden.

(these are my  new garden boxes, built by my men.  They are not complete yet.  They are upside down and need to be placed where I want them.  My man is finishing tuning up a plow that was given to him and then he and the neighbor will till some dirt to fill the boxes.)

I am going... Today is piano lesson for my student.  We'll be heading out soon to attend those lessons.

I am praying...  Praying for my recovery.  Praying for my grandchild...it's Momma needs to be done with nasea.  Praying for my married children and thier upcoming move to Juneau, Alaska in April.  Praying for far away family.  Praying for desires of my heart.  Praying for our family to be a good witness to neighbors and church friends.

I am reading/watching...  I'm between books at the moment.  Going on a library run this afternoon.

We've been watching  Siblings: Heartstrings and watching Mission Impossible.

I am looking forward to...  Getting back in the hot tub next week.  Working in the garden.  Planting flowers.

From the learning rooms...  Cut back on science and history to focus on English, Literature, Spelling and Math.  I may introduce cursive penmanship soon.

Around the house... Oh yes, housework.  Ha!!  I've noticed lots of dust bunnies and dusty blinds.  My little man is good about running the vacuum and emptying the dishwasher.  I've got a pile of laundry on the bed to be put away.

One of my favorite things...  We've really been in to having tea at lunchtime.  I can't believe how much my little man enjoys doing that with me.

This has been my favorite tea lately.  It's really good brewed with a strong black tea and then made into ice tea!

A few plans for the rest of the week:
I don't have any plans.  My men are going out soul winning on Saturday morning.  Then they have to clean the church.  I think I'm going to try to go to church Sunday morning.

That's all for now.  I hope to be back to regular posting again next week!

  1. I'm so glad you're on the mend with positive news about what they found!  You've just had major surgery (even though the small incisions make it feel minor), and it will take a while before you don't tire easily -- take it easy on yourself.  It sounds like the rest of life is good too -- one of these days, when I'm finished with my conference duties (3/19) I hope I'll be able to make it down your way and meet you IRL!

  3. I am glad to hear you are feeling better and getting stronger.  The flowers you received are gorgeous!  That tea does make good iced tea, trying throwing in some fresh cut mint as well.

  8. @victoriantomboy - Yes!  Aaron and Maggie are going to Juneau, Alaska.  He graduates from "A" school (as an electricians mate) March 22nd.  They plan on hitting the road soon after.  The ferry for Juneau leaves on April 12th.  Guess which new  granny will be taking a ferry 'cruise' in September?

  9. You look wonderful! I do like to know the details from the doctor. You have a huge, flat yard for gardening! I'd be tempted to put a chicken coop out there, too!   Brewing peach passion with black tea..oooo, yummy. I will have to try that one!  Well, take care, friend! Don't over do yourself!

Thanks for all the news sweet girl.  I got my seeds planted into starter trays yesterday, have some more to go, but I need my dirt to come up to room temp so I won't shock my seeds, got a lot of flowers and a vew vegies going.Still planning on a visit next month, if Mike gets his S/S monies as they have promised.  They are still dragging him along but he is getting more assertive with them and they back pedal some.  Please be praying over that situation along with us.It was good to read your post.  Momeee
