Hello Friday

It's Friday

Outside my window...  We have our June gloom here in the mornings.  It's cloudy in the mornings and by 10 a.m. the clouds have burned off and temperatures start increasing.  The past few days we've had highs of around 80 degrees.

I am thinking...  I am thinking I have a bit busy the last few weeks.  Doing things such as yard work and running around.

I am thankful...  I am always thankful to God for what he has given me over and above what I could ask or even think of.  I am so thankful.

Luke 6:35  " But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil."

In the kitchen...  Oh. . .  from the kitchen came good things.  Last night we had Cheesy Taco Soup with homemade corn chips sprinkled on top of each serving.  From the kitchen tonight we had vegetable pizza with garlic ranch sauce on the crust.

Those are my zucchini fries.

I am wearing...  I'm dressed cool today with a pair of tan shorts and green smocked tank top.  I've been working outside a lot this week and have had to change clothes several times.  This has led to a little more laundry.

I am creating...  It has been requested that I make the crib set for my new granddaughter.  I've got to get started on it.  I have yet to pick out the fabric but have some things I like.  The color is PURPLE!

I am going...  I am not planning on going anywhere that I can predict in the next few days.  Our big FAIR is scheduled to start soon and I want to go and spend a day there.  I'd also like to use our Legoland tickets and take one more trip there as an end of school celebration.

I am praying...  Continuing to pray for my little friend Anna-Renee.  She's had some good reports lately.  She does have a wonderful PHYSICIAN!  Praying for travel mercies for far away families.  Praying for my married children and my granddaughter, yet to be born.  Praying for my witness and spiritual growth.

(Anna-Renee)

I am reading...  I'm reading a silly book therefore not worthy to be mentioned.

We started a new series on that my boys really love.  But it does have a fir amount of witchcraft in it.  It's called Merlin.

I am looking forward to...  Praying that one of these days I'll get to go camping, before it gets too hot around here.

From the learning rooms... My student worked ahead and has had the last two days off.  I'm going to try an work in an achievement test next week.  The test is not required, I'm just curious.

Around the house...  I bought a pair of 'satin' sheets made from polyester yesterday.  Not sure that I like them.  The blankets and pillows keep falling off the bed!

A favorite quote for today...

"When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance."
 Joel Osteen

One of my favorite things...  I love the smell of
Baby Magic Baby BathAnd Pampers baby diapers. Really. . .  I'm weird.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  We're picking in the garden in the morning and passing out lettuce and zucchini to the neighbors.  Not sure what our family activity will be for the day.

A peek into my week...

We attended a wedding on Sunday afternoon.  A young couple in our church got married.  Her colors were purple and teal.  Many of the ladies that attended the wedding were also wearing a dark apricot color.  All the colors were pretty together.  It was a Mexican wedding with lots of traditions thrown in.

This is the centerpiece I made for the wedding reception head table.

I took my husbands TOY over to my friend Tonya's this week and helped her do yardwork.  We used the TOY to pull some big bushes out of the yard.  It was sooo FUN!

I was able to bring some of the bushes home.  I think they are Bird of Paradise, Banana Palm and another type of palm tree.  Yesterday and today I planted my 'free' trees out by my garden.

(My many thanks goes out to Simple Woman's Daybook who hosts a gathering over on her blog.)

Memorialized Memorial Day

We memorialized Memorial Day together as a family.  We took the 'Toy' out to the desert to do 4X4 ing.  It was warm out in the desert but we still had fun.  My military man took us to a 'Mud Caves'  An interesting phenomenon that happens in the rainy season in the desert.  The rain water makes tunnels or caves in the gully's.  We explored a few.  We had a nice chicken picnic.  And my little man spent half the afternoon showing off 'his sexy' (that's what he calls not wearing a shirt!)

(poor Banjo looks like he is chasing the Toyota... he's not...really.  We were parked.  For some reason my manly man has a fascination with taking many pictures of his 'Toy.'

This was blooming along with a few cactus.  The bees were buzzing everywhere around them.  We think they are Indigo Bush.

Hello Saturday!

Hello Saturday!

Outside my window...  The weather is super, fatastic and wonderful.  The last few days have been sunny in the mid to low 70's.  Cool at night so the sleeping is good.

I am thinking...
I'm thinking. . .always thinking. . .

the Lord MUST be coming back soon
almost a year has gone by since our move
my children are getting older
I wonder what I will be doing a few years from now?

I am thankful...
"For thou, Lord, hast made glad through thy work, I will triumph in the works of thy hands."
Psalms 92:4

In the kitchen...
From the kitchen today, we had hamburger, stroganoff gravy with rice and parmesan, garlic zucchini (the zucchini was from our garden!) with a pear salad.
Tomorrow we will be having grilled hamburgers and french fries.
Monday I'd like to take a picnic up to the mountains in the Toyota and drive a trail or two with my guys.

I am wearing...
I have on tan shorts and an olive green tank top.  I painted my toes today- dusty rose colored.  My hair has been growing really fast since my surgery.  I've been keeping it layered and the bangs short.  I want it to grow long enough so I can pull it back in a clip.

Tomorrow for church I am going to wear a new outfit from the thrift store.  It's a pretty blue summer dress and some leather sandals.  Total outfit cost $22.  (I had to take the sandals to the shoe man to have the toe box stretched out!)  I'll have to get one of my guys to take a picture of me in the outfit tomorrow.

I am creating...
Let's see, I've not worked in the yard since last week.  We need to get some compost or chips to spread on the flower beds.  I think if we get the free stuff, it will be many loads, in our truck at least 7 loads!

Today I got a bug to rearrange my room.  I'm thinking about those 90 degree nights we will have in few weeks.  I think we may get a big box fan and pull the feet off of it and stick it in the front window to pull in the cool evening air.  I already have a small fan in the small window and it's been being used, especially last week when we had those two HOT days!

BEFORE

AFTER

I am going...
Tomorrow is church and Monday is Memorial Day.

I am praying...
I am praying for my married children.  Praying for far away family.  Praying for my xanga friends.  Praying for my little church.  Praying for my witness.  Praying fervently for my little friend Anna Renee.

I am reading/watching...
I am between books at the moment.  Friday was library day and my student and I stocked up.

We are still watching EMERGENCY!

I have a documentary on Alfred Hitchcock here as well.

I am looking forward to...
Looking forward to a day. . .praying it will be soon, that we will get some duty free days (husbands work ) to go camping in our little camp trailer we haven't used yet.

From the learning rooms...
Still plugging on.  He is doing a lot of long division review.  He was also working on predicates.  I'm going to administer a CAT test this next week to see where he is.  That will determine whether we stop early or finish the last few weeks of the books.

Around the house...
My bedroom smells very clean.  It's got Murphy's Oil Soap and Orange Glow mingling together.  The rest of the house is not bad.  The beds have been stripped and washed from the last round of company.  I may need to vacuum a bit this week.

A favorite quote for today...
"Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."
Abraham Lincoln

One of my favorite things...
my dinner today...it was good comfort food.

A glimpse at my days...

(posing next to Uncle Ben at Legoland)

We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit with Chris, Sharon and baby Anastasia.  We went to Legoland, 4X4 driving and visiting the waterfront and Old Town, San Diego.
