Forty Two

My 42nd birthday was wonderful.  I got everything that I asked for.  It was a great day.

Tim Hawkins ISANITIZED, The Peasall Sisters HOME TO YOU,  Surprise FLOWERS,  Lunch at Golden Corral  (106 miles away . . .my family loves me ),

a drive through the 4X4 forest in the big Monster truck,

watching my manly man catch a beautiful fish,

While driving through the forest we say many turkey's.  We were looking for deer.  All the sudden I said, "I saw a face!  Go Back!"

"What!??"  Say the manly men.  I grabbed my camera and jumped out of the truck and walked a short way into the forest.  This is what I saw.

A HUGE knot on a tree with a shelf lichen growing out of it.  It was SO COOL!

Thank you dear friends for the sweet birthday wishes!

  1. Your birthday sounds wonderful.  So glad you got everything you wanted.  Love the ride in the monster truck and the face!  So cool!    You are fortunate Golden Corral is only 104 mi. away.  None around here    I have to wait till we go to Raleigh in Feb. for my Golden Corral fix!

  3. Don't tell me you had a birthday and I missed it? ay,ay,ay! Well, I'm glad it was happy! I still need to blog about mine! I didn't get anything I asked for, but am happy with the goodies my kids gave me. Hubby gave me a suprise gathering at Starbucks and he made my favorite orange creamsicle cake. Oh yes, and he got me a nice sentimental card that he actually read before he bought it and a small boquet of flowers. I'm glad the day is over because of the hard part, and am taking on 55 with a better attitude than I thought I would! Happy Forty 2, my friend!

  8. Yes, he made a cake, from scratch, which is the ONLY way he does it! No box mixes for him! I was quite surprised when I noticed he was making it. It was a very loving gesture, as Orange Creamsicle with Cream Cheese frosting is not one that he likes. That was a gift in and of itself. ( :     Happy Tuesday, Dear Girl!

  9. Oh!  and it's still April, so "Happy Birthday Month!!"  Glad you had a good day and (a little) jealous of your Golden Corral trip!  (We don't have here...hmmm...that's an idea.  We have McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, and Papa Johns...  Why not Golden Corral?)
