~~It's Thursday!~~

(this is where I sit most every morning with my cup of coffee.  I look at the sky and predict the weather.  I listen to the chickens an peacocks sing.  I pray silently for things that come to my mind.  I enjoy this place that God gave to us.)

Outside my window...  The last couple days have been very nice.  Not too hot during the day and pleasant at night.  We've not turned the window unit AC Swamp Cooler on yet.  Desert heat is so different that humid heat.  The forecast today says it will 81, it's still about 71.

(this is one of the things that I see when I'm drinking my coffee)

I am thinking...  Thinking about piano lesson, buying school books, finding a good church, making friends,  finishing decorating, thinking about gardens, yard work and chickens.

I am thankful...  I am always thankful for the Lords provision over and above what I could even ask.  The Lord is so good to me.

Psalms 23:6   Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

In the kitchen...  Grilled chicken, velveeta macaroni, garlic asparagus.

I am wearing...Capris and a blue tee.

I am creating...I'm wanting to blow up this graphic to fit in a frame that my Dad made and hang it in the fireplace room.  I need to create bed skirts for three beds.

Still have a few decorating things that need done, but not sure what to do with the areas.  Looking for a headboard idea for my bed.

I am going... Sometime tomorrow or perhaps next week, I need to go with my manly man to the one of the military bases to get our health insurance changed over.  Not my favorite way to spend a half of a day, but it's got to be done.  Also on my to do list is to go to the library and get a library card and check out books.

I am reading...  I am reading Mary Higgins Clark's I'll Walk Alone.  It's about identity theft.

I am praying...  Praying for the desires of my heart.  Praying for my testimony.  Praying for my witness.  Praying for my health and for my husbands.  Praying for far away family.

From the learning room...  We are doing math review and spelling work.  School will resume sometime in September, after Labor Day weekend.  I'll resume my studies fro my Bachelors Degree then as well.

Around the house...  Everything looks pretty good.  I'm keeping things clean.  I found some new dishes at Target the other day.  This new place has tile counter tops, they are murder on the Corelle dinnerware and glasses.  So I found plastic dishes in teal and lime green that I'm loving.  I need to go back and get a couple more pieces.

One of my favorite things...  My neighbors and how generous they have been.  One set of neighbors in particular.  We've got citrus fruit and tomatoes a plenty.  My son is swimming in thier pool about 4 times a week.  We're going to be really spoiled when we leave this place.  We've already decided it will be extremely difficult to eat store bought citrus fruit after living here.  One of my favorite things is fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in Sprite= a homemade SQUIRT.  Delicious!

Another favorite thing is Jasmine.  Not sure what variety I have.  My Jasmine is in a flower bed box right near the front door and the scent blows in on a gentle breeze to scent my foyer!  BEAUTIFUL!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Not sure of much besides that I have a baby shower barbecue to attend on Saturday.  Everything else is up in the air.

Something to share...  I think my post yesterday was confusing.  I love this rural country life and the sounds it has.  Yesterday I was thrilled to hear the neighbor on his tractor scooping horse stalls.  When he was done scooping stalls, he came to the front to work this piece of ground where they want to work thier horses.  I love the sounds of tractor in the morning!

Yes, the grass is brown right there.  We do have sprinklers on a bit of our front lawn.  Everywhere there are no sprinklers, it's very brown.

Part of the front yard, all pretty green.

Have a great weekend dear friends!

  2. @Babyboomerjill - We had company here last week from Missouri.  One evening the adults all went on a double date.  I snapped that picture of the boat house for the Hotel Del Coronado here in San Diego.  I thought it was pretty.  It was a fun evening and the little restaurant we went to had a great view of the beach!

  3. @betheelou - oh,so you live in San Diego. My girlfriend did but sadly she died from liver disease at 55yr old in 2006. We went there in 2005 to tell her goodbye and watched the sun go down for the last time together. We had been friends since 8th grade. On the bridge going to Coranodo Island I teased her and asked ,"what do you poor people do when it snows?" lol

  4. @Babyboomerjill - This is our second time living in San Diego.  We were here from September 2002 to April 2006.  We just got here for the second time June 8th.  We LOVE it here so much.  We keep pinching ourselves, thankful to have been able to return.

  5. I did realize that you must have liked hearing and seeing the tractor, I however, was immediately taken with how brown the grass was there.  Ours is brown in the back where we get sun all day but our front lawn is green as it is mostly in the shade.  Your front lawn looks great.  Blessed by the fact at how happy you are to be back in CA.

  6. @betheelou - I've gone to visit an aunt and uncle there at the base since the 1950's and Coronado was all bars and tatto shops and I was amazed as a kid.My girlfriend lived there for about 10yrs and her sons still have the house in Jamul. The ex married and moved to Carlbad,Ca. He brought a date to the memorial but to be fair to him they had divorced a year before she got sick. yes, the little harbor is what we looked at from the Del when we stayed there in 2005 I told my husband that you can pay more and get a view of the ocean but don't get it for me.
