Terrific Tuesday

July Pics 026

Just a quick update...

We had a wonderful weekend visiting our old friends.  Our visit with them was sweet.  The church we visited was great, the people friendly and the Pastor was great.  ((I am sorry we didn't get more exciting pictures.))

(This was the view from our hotel room window.  We enjoyed the pool, refreshing ourselves form the 100 degree afternoon.)

We saw some beautiful countryside when we drove the back roads to the Jersey Shore.  I was a bit disappointed that we didn't see more shore.  The coast roads here are not like the ones on the west coast that you can drive along side the ocean and pull over when you like to walk on the beach.  It takes a bit more effort to get to the beach here...and usually costs money.

(Our pets always know when we are getting ready to go somewhere without them.)

We had a bit of an exciting time last week.  Monday, we took a drive to look into some auto parts for my manly man's Toyota project.  We ended up at the beach for quick peek at the surf and sand.  Upon our return to the van, I spotted a Box turtle.  My manly man was intrigued by my find and decided to 'rescue' it.  When he got home he did a bit of internet research and found that it is illegal to have these turtles unless you have a special wildlife permit.  Ha!  Sooo...he decides he is going to return the turtle to the beach when he goes for special training in that area Friday the 30th, almost two weeks away!!.  Until....the turtle jumped out of her box on Tuesday, onto our garage floor, and started laying eggs!  Momma said take her back today!  They did ...and snapped this picture of her and the eggs she laid.

Have a great week.
