Monday's Reflections

It's always refreshing for me to get away from the hustle and bustle, bad drivers with bad attitudes and the busi-ness of city living.  Thursday after my husband returned from a business trip in Dallas, we we're able to go on another camping adventure.  I always come home with a bit of longing for the sounds of frogs, crickets  and whispering pines.

Thursday night we had an exciting night full of thunder storms and one LITTLE scared dog.  He is terrified of thunder storms.  The louder they are, the worse he is.  He shook the trailer in terror most of the night.

This is us stuck in a mud puddle.  My manly man was able to use the winch on the TOY-ota to pull us out from the mud puddle.  He was having sooo much fun.

We saw many toads, two snakes and several deer.  We even heard a Whippoorwill calling in the early morning.

We drove for over two hours with our handy, dandy map looking for what appeared, on the map, to be a lake.  When we finally found it it looked more like an overgrown bog that may have been a water reservoir for flooding cranberry bogs.  We were determined to put the canoe in it and fish.

This is what we caught.  Anyone up on their fish identification?  We think it's a baby Pike.  We sent him back to the water to further his growth.

Getting some water from the well by the swimming hole and heading back to camp after a day spent adventuring.

That's really the color the water appears.  Because  it's marshy, sandy and bog-gie. . .the water looks like Dr. Pepper.

A short canoe trip before packing up our camp and heading back to the hustle and bustle of big city life.

Until next time. . .
