(remembering a fall trip to a farm )
Outside My Window~ It's been such a beautiful week. Warm, but not too hot during the day. Cooler at night, just right for sleeping.
From The Learning Rooms~ One week done already. Trying to get into a routine different than last year. I am up right away and into the shower. Seems to give me more energy than waiting to shower after I've had coffee and breakfast an hour or more after I've risen. I've been making a great breakfast for myself and my student. I am not so tired and run down feeling in the afternoon now. In the school room we are starting spelling today. That should be really fun! Yesterday he had a paper where he was supposed to pick the wrongly spelled word. cake/kake kite/cite koat/coat cave/kave My student wanted to select all the ones spelled wrong! Piano lessons resumed last week as well. I love to listen to him practice.
From The Kitchen~ The first bean supper of the fall. . . a package of 16 beans with smoked turkey bones and a green salad and maybe a batch of corn muffins instead of a big batch of cornbread.
I Am Wearing~ Black and cream striped shirt and a comfy denim skirt.
I Am Creating~ I bought a new table cloth yesterday on my big grocery shopping trip and a bunch of artificial, fall colored flowers. I'll post a picture of my fall table scape.
I Am Enjoying~ Still no good recommendations from the reading department. We went to the library on Monday and I came home with another stack of books to try to read. I did have a good movie over the weekend.
"Bound by a Secret"
I Am Praying~ Praying for myself. I am confessing to you that I have been going through some serious depression recently. I don't like it here. I am trying to be strong. Trying to find the good. I know the Lord has us here for a reason. I used this verse in a note of encouragement to someone else this week. I like the picture it gave me in my mind. One of God holding my hand as WE are walking this journey. So sweet.
Isaiah 41:13
"For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. "
Around The House~ Around my house peaceful instrumental music is playing. My kitchen needs attention. I have a sinkful of dishes. I need to start my pot of beans. I have a cinnamon roll candle melting. Smells good.
One Of My Favorite Things~ Not sleeping alone.
Upcoming~ We are going to drive to Maine for our 21st wedding anniversary. Any sights you recommend? I heard yesterday, that my sister-in-law and her husband will be in the BIG CITY for his work at the end of October. I am looking forward to spending time with them. They are some of my favorite people.
(that's her on the right. . . she'll hate this picture I'm sure!)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week~ Manly man took today and tomorrow off. Not sure what his plan is. Today he is doing honey-do's at church (building maintenance) Maybe he could be talked into a drive, picnic and walk around a country lake tomorrow. The bachelors will be over for Sunday supper. Spaghetti and meatballs. I love eating my own spaghetti! Nothing like it. Isn't it curious how every cook has thier own recipe for spaghetti sauce? It all tastes unique too!
~~Have a great rest of your week friends~~
Supper sounds delicious!I find it extremely interesting how everyone has their own spaghetti sauce recipe, all with most of the same ingredients, but each tastes so different. You wouldn't think that a little more of this and a little less of that would change it that much!
ReplyDeleteAmen on the favorite thing!! Depression~ have had some here as well, if you read my blog earlier this week. I have found that just simply working thru it helps. What I mean is staying busy. I dont sit still long enough for my mind to wonder. And sometimes, it isnt the mind, its just your body being exhausted. Maybe you need some rest. You have done a lot with the bachelors!I made 15 bean soup last week with kelbasa and chili last night. If I could be there to just sit with ya and hold your hand for comfort, I WOULD! <3Lifting you up in prayer my friend. /
