Family Week

Taking a bit of a blogging break the next week or so.  It is a pretty emotional time for our family right now.  #1 son leaves for Coast Guard basic training on Monday, January 17th.  We're grouping together and forcing spending family time.  The men are out right now looking at cars for #1 son's graduation present. (college 2 year associates degree of General Studies in Science)  The car is a present from us for honoring our requirement of a two year degree before entering to the vocation of his choice.  Be in prayer for the health of #1 son, Aaron and all the things that will be required of him by mama Coast Guard next week and for his future direction.  Be in prayer for Daddy.  He keeps saying I am having a hard time letting go of our son but it's really him who has struggled watching Aaron grow up these last few years.

We bid Bachelor Mickey farewell on Friday.  It was a small, tasteful service.  I am thankful to have known Mickey.  Be in prayer for bachelor David.  I think things will change for him in a big way soon.  He will not be able to afford his present apartment without Mickey's income also.  Not sure what Mickey's guardian is planning to do to help David, or if David's church will be stepping up to the plate to help, remains to be seen.  Pray for David.

I'll keep checking your blogs, but will probably not post until next week sometime!

  2. Wow does time speed by.  I am stuck in the past when Aaron was smaller and we had grandma dates and rock hunting and all the other stuff we did together.  Perhaps it is best I am not there with you right now as I would be the one falling apart.  I know how it feels, and most parents must go thru this, I remember when my first child left home and when my youngest, Actually I remember them all, so I know.  I will be praying for Gods grace to abundantly fall on you all during this time.Momeeee

  5. Praying hard for your family. My dh said the same thing about our son growing up. I agree though, my dh seems to be the one having the most trouble letting go. Praying hard for David!
