~~It's Thursday~~

(this picture was taken earlier in the week.)

Outside my window...  Oh, thank the Lord for a bit of warmth yesterday and today!  I'm not sure what the high today was, but it was a gorgeous day.  Manly man had the day off and we managed to blow the leaves off the back yard this afternoon.  We've had frost in the mornings the last few mornings.  The chilly mornings has killed the mosquito's.  Yippee!

I am thinking...   I am thinking about places to go and people to see.  I am thinking about moving.  I am thinking about decorating.  I am thinking of many things.

I am thankful... I am thankful for friends and family.  For love.  I am thankful for Grace and Mercy.

From the learning rooms...   My student is almost done with week 5.  We are a little slow with taking vacations  and that week of skill building.  I need to do another week of skill building in addition and subtraction problems with double digits and addition facts through 18.  My student had a terrible time today with addition.  We did a bit of school at the library yesterday.  Most of the books he checked out, he read yesterday afternoon.

In the kitchen...  I was going to make baked spaghetti squash with chorizo and a big green salad tonight for dinner.  when I cut into the squash, it was mostly rotten.  So. . .plan B . . . Dad took us for pizza at a local place.  The pizza, not so great but the service is very friendly!

My friend Sharon and Baby Anastasia are coming over tomorrow for lunch.  We're having Bean and Bacon Soup with cornbread.

We're going to make dessert together.  It should be fun.

Around the House...  Messy dining room table.  My projects are spread all over the top of it.  The rest of the house is not too bad.  I vacuumed. . .last Saturday.  I noticed under the buffet needs dusting.

I am wearing...  I'm relaxing.  I'm in my bed with my matress warmer turned on high.  I have my nightgown on.  I'm craving a mug of hot tea.  ((Oh how nice, my manly man just went to turn the kettle on ))

I am creating...  I've made some headway on my projects this week.  I've sewed 4 bible covers.  I just need to decorate the front of them and DONE!  I also sewed up some kitchen towels with holders (an idea I saw at that flea market we went to last month.)  I'll spend a bit of time sewing on those camper curtains.  Then I want to make a lighted pinecone basket. (They are good Christmas decorations.)

(Pinning all the layers together on a bible cover)

(be sure to leave an opening for turning right side out.)

I am reading/watching...  I will start to read a new series.  Looks promising.
Murder on the Rocks by Karen MacInerney

THE GRAY WHALE INN MYSTERIES

"Welcome to the world of Natalie Barnes, proprietor of the Gray Whale Inn. This Agatha-nominated series takes place on quaint Cranberry Island, off the coast of Maine; each book contains several delicious recipes you can make at home."

We also started a new series on netflicks called Murdock Mysteries.  I am a fan of Yannick Bisson because he was in  Sue Thomas F.B.Eye
Murdoch Mysteries Poster
We continue to enjoy The Magnificent Seven and Ironside.

I am praying...  Praying for answers to prayer.  Praying for far away family.  Praying for myself. . .I feel better this week, though not totally happy-happy.

I am hearing...    #2 son is a subscriber to the Lego Club Magazine.  (It's FREE Mom's!)  This month it had a FREE dvd with over 2 HOURS of videos.  Haven't heard a peep from him for quite some time.

One of my favorite things...    Several weeks ago I said I was thankful the weather has turned colder because I've been enjoying the hot tea.  I've really been enjoying sipping my Constant Comment this week.

A few plans for the rest of the week:   More yard work on Saturday.  An afternoon with Bachelor David Saturday (we'll be eating kielbasa with a grape jelly/cocktail sauce barbecue sauce on them. . .heard of it?)  with hashbrown casserole . . .Yum!

Something to share... Love to You all.  Have a great weekend!

  2. Betheelou, your artwork for the header is always so cute! I love your profile pic, too. So pretty! So...are you moving? I've been terrible at keeping up with everyone and I wish I could read all of my friends' blogs. Your reading matrial looks good; I'll have to look for some of those because I LOVE mysteries! I hope you get to feeling "happy-happy" again. I went through a complete month of "oh no, what have I gotten myself into...my life is over". Now, things are better. I've learned that it's true: "There's ALWAYS hope", and that ya never know what tomorrow may bring.

  4. @Richgem - Your so sweet!  Thank you for the kind encouraging words.  We're waiting to hear where we'll be stationed for my husbands next assignment.  We should hear any day.  It's no fun to daydream, if you don't know what to daydream about.  It was my Dad's birthday last Monday.  He would have been 84.  He's been gone now for 4 1/2 years.  I just get to thinking about him and missing him.Just a bit down and feeling isolated.  I need friends and that will happen when we move and find a good church again.

  6. Love your Bible covers.  They are great.  I am going to need to check out the Lego magazine for Matthew, Legos are his favorite things in the world.  As for Constant Comment Tea, there is none better.  Makes good iced tea too.  I use 1/2 black tea and 1/2 constant comment!
