basket-of-flowersII

For Today...

Outside my window... It's a quiet morning around here.  Even outside.

I am thinking... About my TEA on Saturday.  I wonder what the turnout will be.  Church was pretty sparse last night.  Lots of families on vacation.  Here is my menu:  Turkey salad on croissants,  Roast Beef with spicy horseradish sauce on white bread, Cucumber on dark rye, Strawberry cream scones with clotted cream and lemon curd, Chocolate Almond brownies, Peanut butter snowballs, Lemon Blossoms, chocolate dipped strawberries, and 3 different hot teas and peach sweet iced tea.

From the learning rooms... Q and R number reviews and library trips, bead crafts, bike riding playing hard.

I am thankful for... I am thankful I can cook!

From the kitchen... Taco Salad tonight!

I am wearing... Jammies!

But I am thinking about this dress for my anniversary cruise

Asymmetrical Contrast Trim Dress - Christopher & Banks

Cinched Plaid Shirt - Christopher & Banks

((I also love this blouse...))

I am reading... Mysteries of course.  A new one starts tonight!

I am hoping... to hear reports of answered prayers, mine and others...

I am creating... I will be cooking in force tomorrow for the tea.  I bought some watch faces on the internet in gold colors.  They look great with orange beads.  Next week I'll post some more pictures of them.  I think one will be a prize for the teacup beauty contest at the TEA.

I am praying... for so much and so many.  God is so good to hear me!

Around the house... Looking forward to a good thunderstorm that doesn't happen in the middle of the night and watching some fireflies!

One of my favorite things... Fishing, Camping, camp food, campfires...aahhh...

A few plans for the rest of the week... Going to Sam's Club tonight with my manly man to get bread and strawberries for Saturday's TEA.  We are going to launch model rockets Saturday afternoon with our friends Chris and Sharon.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

The last bit of our weekend went by fast.  Today my manly man is back at work after having the last two weeks off.  He is planning on some more projects working with his asian girlfriend.  She needs a new window frame and some rust rubbed off her.  Poor thing...she must think she is neglected!blog XII 056

Sierra goes home sometime tomorrow.  If you could see her, you'd agree with me that she is pretty happy.  She looks like she is smiling all the time!  She plays pretty hard and sleeps great at night.  She and Banjo still do not share toys or affection very well.  They are getting along fine otherwise!

We spent the evening of the 4th just hanging out here at home.  My manly man did not have to work like he expected.  he took the boys out for some late night dairy queen and then had some fun with sparklers in our yard.

I always enjoy starting up the firepit.  We enjoyed hotdogs, beans and chips for our afternoon lunch.  I had some very good, gooey, warm s'mores for my dessert!

What's Up With Us??

Happy Independence Day

We didn't have a very imaginative week.  My manly man was home all week and we just spent it quietly at home not doing too much of any one thing in particular.

We had friends over for chicken salad lunch on Thursday.

blog XII 033

I was able to use some of my homegrown lettuce for our salads!  This will almost finish up our lettuce.  It is overgrown and something keeps stealing my plants, roots and all! (I think it's squirrels!)  After lunch the men went and did car repair in our driveway and I crafted watches with my friend Kim.

((That is Kim with corn.)

Also on Thursday morning was #1 son's road test.  He passed!  After our company left we took him in to get his license.  He is legal now!  We just have to call our insurance and find out what it will cost to add him on.  We're kinda scared!!

Yesterday we received charge of Sierra an 85 pound chocolate lab.  We had fun wearing her out last night so she'd sleep good in a strange house.  I'll try to take more pictures of the two dogs playing together today.  She does love to play and doesn't like to share toys with Banjo!

june blog 167

We don't have special plans for our Independence Day celebration today.  We are going to grill some burgers later.  I am going to fill the kiddie pool for Sierra.  I'll probably also start a fire in the pit and relax.  We do have some sparklers for #2 son for later tonight!

Enjoy your weekend friends!

Quick Update

Hello Friends,

Just wanted to make a quick post with an update on us.  We had a busy week last week with all the goings on with our church youth conference.  I am guessing we had over 6 different churches represented and about 360+ folks in attendance.  We were bursting at the seams!  The preaching was great and the children were wonderful as well.

I've made a meal for someone who had surgery and delivered it on Saturday.((beef tips with egg noodles, green beans, fruit salad and rocky road brownies.))  I am doing another meal for someone else today.((Hawaiian chicken, rice pilaf, broccoli and chocolate Sunday cake)) There sure have been lots of surgeries at church the last few days!

Things should slow down a bit this week.  #1 son takes his drivers licence exam at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.  If your remember, please pray that he passes the test!  We'd love for him to have a bit more independence!  We're dog-sitting this weekend.  Can't wait to post pictures.  I guess it is a pretty big dog, 80 pounds of Chocolate lab.  I hear she likes to play, Banjo should have great fun!  My manly man is off work until Saturday, trying to burn up some time off before he looses days come October 1st!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Long Drive!

We're back from our trip to New Hampshire.  We did a lot of country driving.  We tried to avoid the major roads in favor of the back roads.  We see more that way but it does make for a long trip!  We stayed the first night in a nice hotel in Keene, New Hampshire.

We're pretty tired of driving.  Today is just a rest day.  I've got some laundry going.  #2 son is doing school.  My manly man is off through next week.  He goes back to work on the Fourth of July.  Next week, we're not sure what we are planning to do.  #1 son takes his drivers licence exam July 2nd.  We are petsitting that weekend as well.  Maybe we'll try to go camping?

The next two days we will busy as #1 son and I help out at church during youth conference.

My Day, My Plans

 three-pink-roses

For Today...

Outside my window...
darkness approaches...hey the fireflies appeared Sunday night.  I've been looking forward to them.  They are so unique and different!

I am thinking... about friends and family and had this verse running through my head all day~

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. "  Jeremiah 29:11

From the learning rooms... letter P and number 10, some review of past letters and numbers.

I am thankful for... contentment

From the kitchen... tonight we feasted on homemade fried rice, egg rolls and wantons.  Yummy!  Tomorrow I am preparing to have those great steak burritos we loved so much last time.

blog XII 061

I am wearing...jeans, short sleeve navy tee, bare feet with newly painted toes...

I am reading... A silly, silly, silly christian "romance"  It is so silly I may not read it at all and find another book to read.  It reads too much like a harlequin romance novel, not that I know such things...

I am hoping... we have a great, safe time on a few days away from home.  Yes, we are driving to New Hampshire to trade auto parts for my husbands Toyota project.  We are taking #2 son and the dog along.  #1 son will stay close to our church to help prepare for youth conference we are hosting Thursday and Friday.  We're leaving Sunday after the morning service, and coming home Tuesday afternoon.  I'll be sure to take pictures.

I am creating... I am getting things organized for a ladies tea I am hosting July 11th at church.  Hospital-i-TEA, to be exact.  My devotion is pretty much done.  I am ironing out some wrinkles in a Miss Manners quiz.  I found two doorprizes at the flea market this week.  I need to find a couple burgundy table cloths at the thrift store and but or borrow another tea pot.

I am praying... for wisdom, for answers to prayer, for my witness to others, for my love for my husband, for my children...and so much more!

Around the house... It should be getting quieter.  I smell a cinnamon air freshener and hear the dehumidifier running across the room.

One of my favorite things... Music like what my Dad used to listen to.  Golden Oldies.  I wish we had a radio station for them around here.  I haven't found one yet that has what I want.

bees-flowers

A few plans for the rest of the week... well I am all packed already, my church clothes are already pressed, #2 son's clothes are packed and his church clothes are ready.  I need to pack some cd music for our trip.  I gave up packing for my manly man, he thought the outfit I picked for church was too casual.  I gave up on him!  Have to make sure the house is clean before I leave.

Here is a picture I am sharing with you...
