~~It's Thursday~~

Outside my window~ A clear day,  with fall in the air.  We're getting a break from the humidity.  I am praying for all my xanga friends that are in the terrible heat and  the flooding rain!
I am reminded of the verse  "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences and earthquakes, in divers places. . . And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all the nations; and then shall the end come."  Matthew 24-6,7 & 14

I am thinking~  I think we are going on a family adventure next week.  Camping, canoeing and cycling.  I am thinking about getting all the camping things ready.  I've already got a bicycle borrowed for myself.  The weather 'should' be better (cooler) than the last time I went camping.  I am looking forward to this!

I am thankful for~  The Lord took care of the bachelors over the weekend.  He always answers prayers.  Thankful for my husbands steady employment.  Thankful for being able to day dream!

From the learning rooms~  I have finished lesson plans for the first 9 weeks.  We're going to try double days at first then see where we are after those 9 weeks.  I am thinking that curriculum with #2 son is far more advanced than it was 15 years ago with #1 son.    We went and purchased school room decorations on Monday.  We'll probably decorate around Labor Day weekend.  I'll be sure to post before and after pictures of that project.

From the kitchen~  I've gone back to following a menu the last couple weeks...I just haven't posted it!  I think tonight we'll grill hamburgers and make homemade french fries and eat on the back patio.  We'll probably have the bachelors over for lunch after church Sunday.  For that meal I'll be making hamburger gravy and serving it over cooked rice.  Broccoli with cheese sauce,  pistachio salad and brownies with ice cream for dessert.

(Remembering some good Alaskan food with great fondness!)

I am wearing~ Olive green today.  Capri's and short sleeve tee with bare feet and orange toenails.

I am creating~  Got most of the supplies for the photo album project.  I'm going to try to print some of the pictures here at home to save expense.  We'll see if that actually happens.  I'll probably update my photo wall at that time as well.

I am going~  Making plans for tomorrow...to take over lunch and spend time with the new baby and her Momma too!

I am reading~  Read an okay mystery this week.
Cockatiels at Seven by Donna Andrews  Not sure what the rest of her books will be like.  This one wasn't bad if you like female detective heroines.

I am praying~  I am praying for myself.  Praying about taking some correspondense classes.  Praying about our next move.  Praying for other personal stuff.

I am hearing~  I am hearing a quiet house.  The boys went to a park for a walk/hike.

Around the house~  The house is pretty clean.  I have a dishwasher full of clean dishes to put away.  I am going to make lunch shortly and eat it outside, then water my dry flowerbeds and tomatoes.

One of my favorite things~  My manly mans' arms, popcorn, singing birds, water noises, baby smells.

I am sharing~  My manly man brought me flowers on Tuesday. . .  AFTER hearing a sermon at church Sunday and Monday nights about "Treat your wife like a deer and she'll fawn all over you."  I love getting flowers but did he really think of them or was he guilted into doing it?

Have a great weekend friends!

  1. We went and bought some school posters this week too! Don't know when I'll get them up, but the girls always have liked it when I get them. As for your question at the end...he! he! If he hadn't got you flowers, wouldn't you be wondering if he ever listens to the sermon? Its kind of a lose-lose situation for a guy!  The flowers are pretty!

  2. Alaskan food looks wonderful!  I miss holding a new baby.  My DIL said her favorite smell in the world is a new baby's breath!

  3. I couldn't help but smile at the idea of Olive green clothes and orange toenails.  It sounds like such a nice summery look and I do love orange especially in summer.
