It's Thursday!

It's Thursday!

Outside My Window~  Feels warmer, it's almost 40 degrees.  I heard we are having a heat wave tomorrow and it will be almost 50 degrees.  It is sunny and reminds me of a spring day.

I am Praying~  For Haiti.  For my bachelor friends.  For the return to Spring semester for #1 son next week.  Manly man made a quick trip to Quantico, Virginia last night to attend training today.  May the lord keep him safe on his return drive LATE tonight.

I am Creating~  Working on that guest post for my sister.  I am afraid it is not very original and wish I could do a better job!

From the Kitchen~  No Gumbo today.  We ate a huge sandwich lunch yesterday and were not hungry for dinner last night.  We snacked when we got home from church last night.  So #2 son and I had a late lunch today.  Barbecue meatballs, sweet potato fries and garlic snow peas.  It was very tasty!  Tomorrow the bachelors are coming over for turkey dinner with apple pie!

Beside my bed~  I am really enjoying those Rosemary and Thyme DVD's.

They are mature though  like rated PG and I wouldn't watch them with little children but they pretty decent watching.  Check out Amazon.com to find out more about them.

From the school room~
We enjoyed a relaxed school day today at the library.  It was the first time we've done that.  #2 son enjoyed it.  We checked our books afterward.  Maybe we'll have to try to do that more often!

I am wearing~  My new (thrift store) demin skirt, Christopher and Banks brand that I found for $4.99 last week!  And a long sleeve tee.

Around the house~  My new lime green flannel sheets from JC Penny.  Got them on sale, makes me feel good and makes my bed feel cozy!

A few plans for the rest of the week~
It's a three day weekend for my manly man, Monday is a holidayNot sure what we'll be doing.  He has been spending a lot of time lately with his Asian friend.

I'll probably have to compete for attention with HER!  Also one bachelor friend is having a hernia surgery next Wednesday.  We'll be shuttling him to the hostpital, looking in on them after his return, and taking them a meal for a few days in a row.

I am sharing~

My sister has been having a special week on her blog, interviewing her 'friends'  you should drop by and see some of her posts for this week.  www.xanga.com/onehappymomma

  4. What a great idea to have school at the library.  I may have to try that.  Maybe I'll do it on a day that hubby is home to watch the younger ones.  You have such great ideas.  Enjoy the sunshine

  5. @onehappymomma - I did all that stuff with #1 son...seems like so long ago.  It was such a nice refreshing change.  I'd forgotten.

  6. @onehappymomma - Oh yes..I did.  It was easy peasy.  The meatballs were already done, I pulled them from the freezer.  They even had the sauce on them.  The sweet potatoes were super easy, just cut in large wedges and cooked at 450 degrees in olive oil for 30 minutes.  Salt and pepper sprinkle when they came out of the oven.  The peas sauted in garlic olive oil with salt and pepper sprinkle.  Done.Iv'e been stressed (not giving it to God I know...worry) the past couple weeks over the bachelors.  I crave all that comfort food!

  8. Oh!  My mom had mentioned something to me about Rosemary & Thyme - ah, thanks for the info.  Can't wait to bee-bop over to Amazon to check this out.  Your tastes and mine are so alike.  I just grinned from ear to ear reading your profile.  My favorite movies are Sound of Music and Anne of Green Gables.  But I digress, lol, sorry.  (I tend to chat and ramble really really bad...sorry lol.)  Flannel sheets are a must in my neck of the woods, too.  LOL I almost wrote neck of the weeds.  Ha!  Toss in some fleece pajamas, and you've got a bug- snug-in-a-rug going on.  Ummm the meal sounds great.  Sweet potatoes are an all-the-time thing around my place.  I have a missionary friend in PNG and she, unfortunately, hates sweet potatoes...they're one of the things in abundance there.  Sorry to hear you've been so stressed lately - some times are definitely worse than others, I know.  Please know I will be praying for you.  Well, gotta get going.  I will be thinking of you tonight when I run into Christopher & Banks to check out the sales...can't wait.  I love that place, too.  Take care, friend.  God lift you above your trials today and put peace in your lovely heart.
