~~It's Thursday~~

Outside My Window~  Outside my window, after a big wind storm yesterday,  I see many leaves on the ground.  All the trees in my yard have lost their leaves.

Around The House~  Around the house I am enjoying my newly placed Christmas decorations.  I've got a gingerbread candle burning.  Christmas music is playing quietly in the background.

I Am Thinking~  I am thinking how thankful I am for all the things God has done for me.  He continues to provide for me, over and ABOVE what I ask.  I am amazed by GRACE.

I Am Praying~  Praying always for wisdom.  Praying for my husband and his safety as he has moved this week to a new squad.  In this new squad he will be much busier and maybe away from home a lot more.  This week he starts out with duty, the 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift, tonight through Tuesday.   Duty will be about 5 days every 6-8 weeks. Praying for the Lords care for the future.  Praying for the desire of my heart.

From The Leaning Room~   Compound words, root words, suffixes, time review of hour and half hour.  Counting by fives.  I am still amazed that this is first grade.  It seems very advanced.

I Am Wearing~  My new purple, long sleeved tee shirt, with a new purple scarf and brown denim skirt with knee high socks. . .no slippers.

I Am Creating~  I've made a outline of my portion of our annual Christmas letter.  I've cracked the whip around here and I think #1 son is almost done with his 1st draft of something creative for the letter.  My husband is trying to cheat off my work and asked me last night what I have written so far.  I need to order the pictures and think I will do that online and have mailed to the house.  I have to purchase envelopes and stamps.  Have I ever shared that this Christmas letter has been my annual tradition for many, many years?  I send a letter and picture instead of cards.  I mail about 175 letters every year!  I love doing it.  I love the Christmas cards and photos I receive in return!

From the Kitchen~  My menu is out of order.  I'm going to make pancit and egg rolls for tonight.  I'm having my friend Sharon and baby Anastasia for lunch tomorrow.  My friend Alison and her girls may come as well.  I am serving meatloaf, homemade macaroni and cheese, garlic green bean,s buttermilk rolls and cherry cheesecake for dessert.  Saturday afternoon, the bachelors will come over and I'll feed them.  Not sure what they will be getting.

I Am Enjoying~  I think I posted about this last year. . .  I love to purchase music c.d.s from those push button end caps at Wal Mart and Target.  Last year I found a great Christmas c.d.

One Of My Favorite Things~   Dates with my manly man.  I think we're going out to lunch today.  I've never been to Panera Bread and have heard it's good.

Have a great weekend Friends!!

  1. I really like reading these types of posts.  It's such fun to have a glimpse into the "everydayness" of others' lives.  Panera is one of my favorites! It does get kind of spendy when you do a full lunch, but I think its good enough to be worth it!  Have fun on your date!

  2. Matt is in public school but he needs to be reading on his own by the end of the year.  He can already do that and has a list of 26 sight words already.  Come on people this is kindergarten, what happened to music, stories, playtime and rest time.  He leaves on the bus before 8am and does not get home until 4:15.  That is one long day for a kindergartener.  I said all that to agree with your statement that it does seem advanced for 1st grade.  BTW, it is in the mail!

  3. @oldfatgramma - Doesn't it though!!  Sound advanced I mean.  I can't remember doing things such as spelling lists, compound words and such till about 3-4 grade.

  4. It seems that kids school work gets harder and harder. My daughter is in 6th grade and they are already doing Algebra. I didn't have Algebra till High School. Enjoy Panera, it is one of my fave places. There bagels are delicious and I don't even really like bagels.Hope you have a great week!!!

  5. I'm so envious of your new laptop.  I limp through with our old Dell that is nearing 8 years old.  Chug-chug-chug.  My Charlie dog likes to curl up in and under blankets and things too.  Banjo does look a little guilty though.  Is he allowed on the bed?  P.S.  How about a picture of YOU in YOUR knee highs??

  6. @onehappymomma - Akk...uh-hum...no picture exists of me in my knee highs!  Our former laptop was 8 years old and our tower was about 5.  Both got replaced in the past week.  I love the SPEED.  So nice!!

  7. @onehappymomma - He usually is not allowed on my bed unless we are on it and he is invited.  Today, no invitation.

  8. You'll have to let us know how you like Panera!  Cari and I ate lunch there not that long ago!  I love to get their Chai Latte with a shot of vanilla!  We also tried their Mac and Cheese last time we were there and it was really creamy and good!!!  I hope we get to meet you guys while you are here for Christmas!  We'll be gone most of the time you are here!  I've heard LOTS of good!!! :)

  11. Me personally, I just can't get over that fashion statement of knee high socks and fuzzy slippers....lol  Honestly it looks cozy.  I have those ankle type boot slippers from Dear Foam and wear hubs sweat jacket around the house though it's way way too big.  That's what I call cozy on a cold day.
