Having Company

blog XI '09 239

Yes, we did have company last evening.  We enjoyed a fine meal of grilled steak, baked potatoes and green salad.  Our company was Tonya, Paul and baby Samantha.  We have known Tonya since 1990.

She was #1 sons babysitter when she was a teenager and #1 son was little.  We attended church together back then.

She was living in San Diego when we were and we enjoyed renewed friendship with her then as well.  Our sweet Tonya found herself a good man a couple years ago, married him and had a beautiful little baby recently.  She is out here to see her husband off as he leaves for deployment in Iraq sometime tomorrow night.

(Tonya, Paul and baby Samantha ((three weeks old!))

I'm confidant she would love prayers for the safety and speedy return of her husband Paul.

  2. Look at that baby!!!  What a sweetie.  You guys so need a little girl--your hubby looks like he's on cloud nine holding her .

  3. @jessnboyz - he was enjoying the fact that she was asleep and not crying loudly.  She cried all the way back to our house from the airport when we picked them up on Saturday.

  4. @betheelou - oh, that explains it .  How did she do on the plane?   She still is such a cutie!   Does your friend have good support in SD?

  5. @jessnboyz - She has another couple as pretty close friendsand friends from work.  I'd like to see her more involved in church, she sometimes attends the one we went to before we moved.  She is former Navy, so this isn't new to her.The baby slept and pooed most of the 5 1/2 hour flight.  She has been really good at the barracks they are staying in as well.  Sleeping 4-5 hours at a time at night!
