On Thursday I was able to finish my sewing projects and clean up my mess in time for dinner. I made four flannel receiving blankets and hemmed a pair of jeans.
On Friday I was able to take #2 son out and purchase bedding plants for my new flower beds. I didn't get a lot of what was on my list. I guess what I want is a later in the season type of plants. I did manage to find: Tomato, Basil, Sage Parsley, Green Banana Pepper, Pinks, Fushia, Sweet Alyssum, Pansies, Petunia, Violets, Red a Green lettuce and a few others I can't remember.
Saturday was the day the Swing Fort was completed!! I also went and got my friend Tonya from the airport. We managed a quick visit and a little baby holding before she went to go see her husband. I also managed to assemble a picnic lunch for the church picnic on Sunday afternoon.
I was in need of rest yesterday so I stayed home from church! I enjoyed LOTS of relaxing, I felt almost like I was on vacation, by myself! I watered the new plants and read in the morning. I started a fire in the firepit in the late afternoon and read Nancy Drew by the fire while I was waiting for my family to return.
(I spotted this nest in the tree behind the fort. It is a Sparrow nest. They have decorated the bottom of it with plastic things they have found!)
Today Tonya is bringing her family over for a visit and some dinner. I am looking forward to that!
Not too much planned for the rest of the week. Friday Tonya returns to San Diego so I will drive her to the airport. Saturday our landlord is getting married and we have been invited to attend! Sunday afternoon my manly man leaves for about 14 days of training in Connecticut.
Enjoy all the pictures!! Have a great week!
I love that first pic--such handsome "boys". I bet your little guy loves his new fort!!! What fun.As usual, your menu looks yummy .... chocolate cream cake sounds wonderful!Enjoy your friends tonight--hope you'll have time to play some games!Love ya!
ReplyDeleteIs this Tonya you've been visiting with THE Tonya you've known forever?
ReplyDeleteI just love fire pits!! I love them even more if the smoke doesnt get in my hair. Speaking of hair.....did you cut it?
ReplyDeleteLove the material you used for the blankets. I made quite a few oversidzed receiving blankets, I made mine reversible with a print on one side, solid on the other. I was wondering the same thing about your hair. Linda
