Day 6

AlCan4 003

Traveled about 290 miles today.  Fuel efficiency was down yesterday, probably due to the rain, 20 M.P.G.  The weather was very nice for travel today.  A bit cooler and no rain until tonight.  Now it is sprinkling but the temperature is still warm.  We are in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada.  This is a very agricultural area. There are many alfalfa and grass fields for hay.  There is also some kind of crop we were trying to figure out what it was.  After a quick search I believe it is Canola.  It sure is striking against other green fields.  We like this area very much.

It's been six days and I miss my cooking already.  I've been craving some comfort food for the last two days.  Chicken fried steak and creamy mashed potatoes with country gravy.  Ahhh!  I've seen lots and lots of neglected Rhubarb plants the last few days.  Huge, thick stalks that no one has harvested for PIE!  Such a shame.

Tomorrow we start heading east toward Edmonton.  Not sure if we'll go to the BIG mall located there.  Our hotel tonight does not have a pool.  Maybe tomorrow we'll have one.
