Leaving on the ferry. Can you see our trusty little Caravan?
This is our remote, rural island in the background.
We've said all our goodbyes and hit the road for another grand adventure. We left our remote, rural alaska island yesterday by ferry at 5:00 pm. Oh, was it pretty going through the channels between islands. We saw a lot of whale spouts. They were really far away though. The ones that were close always took us by surprise and came up too late for us to take a picture. The ferry trip to the mainland went very smooth. We got a little bit of rest before docking at 1:45 a.m. With the ferry trip and what driving we did today we have traveled about 850 miles. We drove about 12 hours.
We are in Tok, Alaska. Looking forward to an early night and some good rest. The boys plan on trying to gold pan. I am going to lay in bed and read tonight. I am going to keep this short as we are eating out and the connection isn't too great. Will try to get some pictures to post later.
It seems almost sad to imagine leaving the natural beauty of Alaska. Although I've never been there your pictures have shown me an Alaska I never knew existed. Hope you get lots of rest and have good traveling. Looking forward to your pictures.Love you Sis.
