Day Four

We did not have any wireless connection at our lodging last night so I was unable to post.  We drove about 270 miles yesterday, hoping to have an early afternoon for resting.  After arriving at our lodging our room wasn't ready.  We had a meal in their restaurant, homemade burgers and fries, like my mom used to make!   It was great.  Later in the evening we went back for homemade brambleberry pie.  We had a delicious country breakfast there this morning before starting our day also.

Let's see, yesterday we saw a bobcat, a moose with antlers and miles and miles of road.  We ran into a lot of road construction yesterday.  We still maintained about 25 miles to the gallon on gas.  We are still paying Canadian currency and paying about $80 or so for a tank of gasoline.  I am posting pictures of the flowers I observed along the roads.  There we so many the side of the roads looked pink with wild Roses and blue with the Lupine.

Everytime we stopped for a break, the entire population of mosquitos in the Yukon Territory sounded the dinner bell.  Today we look like we have had chicken pox.  The worst cases being that of the boys,  #2 son even has bites EVERYWHERE!  Banjo the dog wasn't immune, his underside is covered in bites.  Our rest last night wasn't as good as we would have liked.  It started to cloud up after being pretty warm, it made it humid.  There was no fan in our room to circulate the air.  We were warm all night.  The mosquitos managed to find their way through the screens and under the door to buzz our heads while we trying to sleep.  By this morning we realized we HATE mosquitos!
